How to Style a Southern Boho Look

How to Style a Southern Boho Look

So by the title you may be wondering.....What is a southern boho look?? Well the store (and myself, Megan) are located in Mississippi...therefore we have a "southern touch" to a lot of our looks. To me, southern boho is that country kinda western look mixed with the free spirited vibes that boho and hippie pieces have.

What is so special about this style is that you can really wear anything and have it be southern boho. Especially a good graphic tee...just throw a kimono over it and you are all set.

As with all styles you can have varying degrees of it. Some looks can be really funky and wild while others can just have one piece or accessory that makes it have that boho touch. For example the look below features a simple basic tshirt with a denim skirt....this look could so be worn just like that, but when you add a wild leopard print kimono and floppy hat you have all the boho vibes.

Another good way to wear this southern style is with a good floral print...this could be in a simple dress or again with a duster style kimono like the look below. The same denim skirt is paired with a summery bright yellow tank, which is a fun look on its own, but by adding the floral kimono you have that boho feel.

One of my favorite ways to have a boho look is mixing different prints together. To me there is nothing that cant be worn together in some way (think Steven Tyler meets Stevie Nicks!) See the look below, an upcycled graphic tee that features leopard print sleeves with floral ruffles has been layered over a simple tshirt dress.

The main thing with this style (which could be labeled as so many things) is to have FUN...and to feel GOOD and CONFIDENT....as long as you do that you great! Stay tuned for the next blog post with more styling tips.
